STATEMENT OF FAITH
This Statement of Faith expresses the sincerely held, historic, and doctrinal convictions of Gospel Partners Serving, Inc. (“GPS”). All policies, programs, activities, and decisions of GPS shall be guided by and interpreted consistently with these biblical convictions.
The President serves as the primary steward and interpreter of GPS’s doctrinal position in the normal course of ministry, and the Board of Directors retains final ecclesiastical authority to affirm, review, and adjudicate doctrinal matters in accordance with the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws.
GPS reserves the right, as a religious organization protected by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution, to operate, teach, minister, and make decisions in full alignment with this Statement of Faith.
We believe in the verbal and plenary inspiration of the 66 books of the Bible, which we also consider to be inerrant, infallible, and universally applicable. Therefore, the Bible is GPS’s final authority in all matters of faith and practice.
We believe that God providentially preserved His Word in the Masoretic Text for the Old Testament and the Textus Receptus for the New Testament. We believe that formal equivalence is the appropriate translation method from the manuscripts to the common languages. We reject the methods of the so-called textual criticism that is based on the theory of Wescott and Hort, and has produced the Nestle-Alan critical text, which is the basis for the modern translations.
The Authorized King James 1611 shall be the official and only version used in all GPS’s activities in the English language. The Reina-Valera 1960 shall be the official and only version used in all GPS’s activities in the Spanish language. For any activity in any other language, the official version used shall be one that was translated from the above-mentioned manuscripts and translation method.
We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfection.
We believe that God created the universe in six literal 24-hour days. We reject the Evolution Theory, the Gap Theory, the Day-Age Theory, and Theistic Evolution, as unscriptural theories of origin.
We believe that God became a man through His eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, without ceasing to be God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as a voluntary, representative, vicarious, and substitutionary sacrifice, and that our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God the Father, where, as our High Priest, fulfills the ministries of Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate.
We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin, the whole human race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became totally alienated from God; man, of himself, is utterly unable to remedy his lost condition.
We believe that Satan, who was a cherub, created as Lucifer, is the originator of sin and the instigator of the fall of man; that he is the open and declared enemy of God and man; and that he shall be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire. Lucifer, the anointed cherub, fell in pride and sinful rebellion and became Satan, the Devil.
We believe in salvation by grace alone, through faith (which includes repentance from unbelief), plus nothing, minus nothing, and in the eternal security and assurance of believers.
We believe that all the saved should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Lord and Savior; and, that separation from all ecumenical religious apostasy, all worldly and sinful pleasures, practices, and associations is commanded of God.
We, as Fundamental Independent Baptists, affirm a premillennial and pretribulational understanding of eschatology, shaped by a revised dispensational approach to biblical interpretation. While we do not formally align with Calvinistic, Arminian, or Charismatic theological systems, we are committed to a biblically centered, theologically conservative doctrinal position, firmly grounded in the authority and foundational truths of Scripture.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life, and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment. We believe that the souls of the redeemed are, at death, absent from the body and present with the Lord, where consciously in Heaven they await the first resurrection, when spirit, soul, and body are reunited to be glorified forever with the Lord.
We believe that the souls of unbelievers remain after death in conscious punishment and torment in Hell until the second resurrection. Then with soul and body reunited, they shall appear at the Great White Throne Judgment and shall be cast into the Lake of Fire, to suffer everlasting conscious punishment and torment.
We believe that marriage is a biblical institution established by God as described by Scripture. The biblical ideal for marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman, both with no gender or sex alteration or transformation, in a covenant lifetime commitment before God. Accordingly, this organization’s officers, officials, leaders, pastors, evangelists, missionaries, teachers, volunteers, lay persons, and staff will not participate in any way, directly or indirectly, in same-sex unions or same-sex marriages, nor will its property or resources be used for such purposes. We reject any attempt to change the natural sex, or any so-called identification as the opposite gender, as well as any concept of "marriage" or "family" that does not comply with what is established in the Bible.
We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity should be engaged outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, and adultery are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. We believe that God disapproves of and forbids any attempt to alter one’s gender by either surgery or appearance. Therefore, such sinful patterns, if not repented of, will be a barrier to participating in this corporation.
The Word of God, GPS’s final authority, teaches the sanctity of life. Accordingly, this organization’s officers, officials, leaders, pastors, evangelists, missionaries, teachers, volunteers, lay persons, and staff will not participate in any way, directly or indirectly, in anything deemed pro-abortion, or against the sanctity of human life, nor will its property or resources be used for such purposes.
We believe that the biblical role of government and its officials is being God's servants for our good; human rights are given by God, not by government. We believe in the separation of state and religious organizations.
We reject sectarianism in any form, regardless of the basis for the alleged divisions.
We believe in the dignity of every human being and reject any type of discrimination based on race, color, national origin, ethnicity, or sex.
Because GPS functions as a distinctly Christian religious ministry, we reserve the right to limit participation, partnership, leadership, teaching, speaking, employment, volunteer involvement, and ministry representation to those who affirm and do not live in open contradiction to this Statement of Faith, in accordance with our sincerely held religious convictions and First Amendment protections.
